How are enzymes used in medicine and where are they extracted from?



Enzymes are usually found in cells BUT small amounts can be found in body fluids such as blood, urine and cerebrospinal fluid.

The level of enzyme activity in these fluids can be monitored and abnormal activity (high or low) of particular enzymes can signal the onset of certain diseases or their progression.
