How do you control the confidence level, power, alpha and beta in a hypothesis test?

Answer: The only control we have is the value we choose for alpha. However, the alpha value we choose also determines the confidence interval. β (we don't know the exact value of β but we know as gets larger β gets smaller and as gets smaller β gets larger BUT not at the same rate!), and the power of the test (1 - β).
