Explain the processes involved in the formation of sedimentary rock.

The processes in the formation of sedimentary rock primary starts with solar energy and gravity while water helps to transport the main components. A rock is broken down by weathering and erosion and transportation moves the particles of broken rock where it get deposited in rivers and other bodies of water. Then lithification is the final process of forming sedimentary rock by cementation, compaction and hardening of the sediments.
