Jethro is not feeling well. Constant fatigue and a low grade fever are his symptoms. He goes to Dr. Doolittle and he immediately orders his blood to be drawn. Why?



Answer: Blood is made up of a number of cells. He is looking for signs of infection. Dr. Doolittle is looking for antigens and foreign particles in the circulatory system that could be causing the infection. He could also be looking at the number of leukocytes, for if there is too few, fighting infection is a problem.
