Answer: 6 weeks premature means that the baby's connective tissue is not well developed. There is no subcutaneous fat. Baby is put in heated incubator to help him maintain his body temperature. Without the subcutaneous fat, it is hard to regulate and maintain body temperature. They may also have humidity inside the temperature as an additional source of heat as well as a preventative measure to decrease water losses and skin breakdown.
