What are victim impact statements?




• Allows victims to describe the physical, emotional, and economic effects of the crime beyond the visible harm they may have experienced.
• Allows victims an opportunity to outline what they believe is an appropriate punishment for the crime.
• They do NOT determine guilt or innocence in a trial.
