Hypertrophic: small left ventricle. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathies require medications that control arrhythmias and slow and strengthen heart contractions.

Restrictive: thickening of myocardium.Restrictive cardiomyopathies call for medications that reduce the workload of the heart.
